A colleague of Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart (aka Don Van Vliet) and his Magic Band produced some of the most eccentric music of the late 1960s--or, for that matter, ever. Drumbo (John French) plays drums on this album. He also helped the Captain transcribe his sounds to the rest of the band. The Mascara Snake plays some clarinet and sax on the album (ie: the duet at the beginning of Hair Pie: Bake 1. Great album! Nothing like it and there never will be.
