The New York Dolls are an american punk-rock band, formed in New York City in 1971. In 2004 the band reformed with three of their original members, two of whom, David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain, continue on today and have released two records of new material. The original bassist, Arthur Kane died shortly after their first reunion concert.The band's protopunk sound prefigured much of what was to come in the punk rock era; their visual style influenced the look of many new wave and 1980s-era glam metal groups, and they began the local New York scene that later spawned the Ramones, Blondie, Television and Talking Heads, among others.
New York Dolls is the first album released by the American rock band the New York Dolls. The album's proto punk sound is mixed with influences of glam rock and rock & roll. Too Much Too Soon, aka New York Dolls in Too Much Too Soon, is the second album by New York Dolls and last studio album by the original recording line-up. The album was produced by Shadow Morton, a songwriter and record producer closely associated with the Shangri-Las. The album's title is taken from the title of the autobiography of actress Diana Barrymore, to whom the album is also dedicated. The autobiography was also made into a film of the same name.Tracks
